13/3/2002 – Spanish Winter Championships in Madrid

From next March 22 one is going to dispute in the swimming pools of World Champs 86 (Madrid) a new edition of the Spanish Swimming Winter Championships for disable in Madrid. Representing to the Balearic Islands Team will have three swimmers: Vanesa Capó (CN Voltor Balear), Joan Cardona (CN Maó) and Xavi Torres (Royal Nautical Club of Palma).

The events for every swimmer are the following ones:
Vanesa Capó 50 and 100 m, free.
Joan Cardona 50 and 100 m. free.
Xavi Torres 50 and 100 butterfly, 150 and 200 medley.

Xavi Torres will try to achieve the standard time to the World Champs of Argentina (next December) in 150 m. medley. In spite of not having prepared this competition after the Limit 24 hours, the Majorcan swimmer will try to be proclaimed a champion in the events in which he takes part. Nowadays the world record possesses in 100 butterfly, 150 and 200 medleys, though it is difficult that he approaches to above mentioned times.
