2/5/2002 – Xavi Torres, in the Finnish Open and the Belgium Championships

The balearic swimmer Xavi Torres, returns to the international competition to participate during next weekend in the Finnish Open that will take place in Jhivaskyla in pool of 50 meters. This is a new opportunity for Torres to achieve the standard time for the World Championship to take place in Argentina next month of December.

It is necessary to remember that month and half ago in the course of the Spanish Championships Xavi Torres stays to hardly 54 hundredth of achieving the standard time in the test of 150 m. medley. In Jhivaskyla, Xavi Torress is inscribed in 150 m. medley, 50 m. butterfly, 50 m. breastroke and 100 m. free.

When concluding the Finnish Open, the swimmer of the Real Nautical Club of Palm will move directly to Anstwertz (Belgium) to participate in the Belgium Championships in pool of 25 meters. For this competition Torres has decided to enlarge the number of tests to participate. Concretely they will be eight the tests in those that it will be present the swimmer: 50, 100 and 200 m. free, 50 m. butterfly, 50 m. breastrokw, 50 and 100 m. back, and 150 m. medley.

Xavi Torres has foreseen to return to the island next day 14th to prepare its participation in the BT Swimming Championships (Sheffield, GBR), US Open (Washington, USES) and German Swimming Open (Berlin, Germany). Also, he will be beside David Meca advising him in its new challenge of uniting Great Canaria and Tenerife (near 100 kilometers).
